As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be a pivotal member of the Leadership Team at our Carson City, NV location and be responsible for driving the continuous improvement culture at the site. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for providing technical support and coaching to staff in LEAN processes, driving change management, effectively communicating with staff at various levels of the organizations and collaborating with various stakeholder within Chromalloy Carson City and across other sites to share best practices and achieve target performance objectives.

Responsibilities Include:

Identify and align CI Priorities, Goals and Objectives. *

  • Work in collaboration with regional CI leadership to implement the Chromalloy Continuous Improvement System.
  • Work in collaboration with site and regional CI leadership to identify and improve those areas most important to the site and Chromalloy.
  • Establish CI roadmaps, KPIs, priorities, project goals and assess results.
  • Provide regular and ongoing feedback regarding improvement opportunities to Site Leadership and to CI Leadership.
  • Coordinate, lead and execute improvement projects and initiatives in order to achieve business needs and objectives.
  • Drive CI culture throughout the organization by organizing & facilitating CI events as necessary and ensuring that accountability for CI is held at all levels in the organization and ensuring standards are followed correctly.
  • Conduct site evaluations of CI Standards' proficiency as directed by Site and CI leadership.

Deliver business results:

  • Identify and eliminate process waste by continually driving a cultural shift in the organization with sustainable results.
  • Monitor progress of improvement projects by establishing reporting process metrics, and creating business performance scorecards, providing regular business management metrics including cost/performance improvement and ROI.

Develop CI Capability:

  • Manage the (Lend Forward) program for the site. Train, coach and mentor CI development resources to build capability throughout.
  • Development of CI capability within the site through training of all site personnel on Chromalloy CI Standards.
  • Leverage CI skills and talents to assist the organization with capital requests, footprint transformations, capacity planning, and product transitions between facilities.
  • Continuous assessment and recommendation to site leadership of people to receive further CI training and opportunities.
  • Participation and leadership of Chromalloy Lean Leadership and Accelerator Weeks.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

If you have a bachelor's degree in a Continuous Improvement related discipline (e.g. engineering, operations management, business etc.) along with 5+ years of experience leading manufacturing or business organizations in the deployment of Continuous Improvement then joining Chromalloy is a great career move! In addition to your education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:

  • Experience in successful deployment of Lean and Six Sigma systems, including: Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Facilitation, Cellular Flow, Single-Minute Exchange of Dies, Process Flow Mapping, Kanban, Hoshin, Visual Controls, 6S, etc.
  • Green Belt required. Black Belt preferred.
  • Ability to engage others in, facilitate consensus, obtain buy-in of senior leadership and drive for successful adoption of change initiatives.
  • A track record of continuous improvement efforts with proven successful sustained outcomes.
  • Analytical/critical thinking, information analysis, problem resolution skills
  • Ability to engage others and foster teamwork and build strong relationships.
  • Ability to understand others, lead teams and develop people.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships, motivate, and inspire others through highly effective communication and exemplary presentation skills.
  • Ability to achieve business results through direct and indirect interaction, delivering business results under pressure, a champion of performance improvement with a strong customer focus.
