Position Summary:

Guide and conduct industry market data collection, maintenance, analysis and visualization activities in support of SEIA’s mission. Supervise junior staff involved in data collection and analysis activities. Work closely with communications, advocacy, and membership teams to ensure internal and external analyses are understood and communicated to outside stakeholders effectively.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, guide, and occasional perform data collection and database maintenance
  • Data analysis, summary, and visualization (includes report writing and editing)
  • Present analytical findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with advocacy and communications teams to shape messaging around research findings
  • Collaborate with business development teams on the creation of new revenue-generating research products
  • General research to keep up-to-date on industry trends
  • Network with outside analysts and researchers
  • Provide analytical support to member companies
  • Supervise the Research Analyst and Research Interns

Requirements:

Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in analysis of solar energy, energy storage, renewable energy, and/or electricity markets. Demonstrated understanding of standard industry data sources, research methods, industry trends, and market dynamics. Staff management experience.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree (with equivalent experience) in any of the following: economics, finance, business, public administration, public policy, or related fields.
  • Experience in data collection, maintenance, and analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively on complex topics
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and/or similar spreadsheet/analysis software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (role requires presenting to large audiences, both in-person and virtually)
  • Well-developed attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle large array of research and analysis tasks for wide variety of internal and external stakeholders on various timelines

 


Working Conditions

  • Work is in an office environment or in a remote-office environment that is suitably equipped with internet and telephone access.
  • SEIA employees in the Washington, D.C. region follow a hybrid remote and in-person office model. Employees work 3 days a week in an office environment and as needed when there are special events or meetings but otherwise can be remote.
  • Travel is required for this role.

 


Compensation Range

$100,000-$105,000 annually, based on experience and excellent benefits package
